On 7th February we held our annual Apprenticeship Awareness Evening. The event was a huge success attended by well over 100 students and 50 family members from Deyes High and our sister school, Studio@Deyes.

The event played host to key apprenticeship and training providers including: Barclays, Sysco, Scottish Power Energy Networks, Santander, Liverpool John Moores University, 3AAA Apprenticeships, Greater Merseyside Learning Providers Federation, David Campbell Soccer, Specsavers, the Army, the Navy, Merseycare, Merseyside Fire and Rescue, Dyno Rod, Andrew Collinge, Michael John Academy and The Sovini Group.

We even had ex Deyes students representing the Civil Service and Grant Thornton LLP.

These professionals showcased interactive displays, and provided attendees with up-to-date advice and information on a range of apprenticeship/career opportunities.

“Just wanted to say thank you for inviting us to your Apprenticeship Awareness Evening yesterday. It was a great event and it was a pleasure to talk to your students who were keen to gain as much information about what SP Energy Networks do and what career opportunities we can offer them. It was particularly great to see so many students interested in a career in engineering!”

 – James Edge, Project Engineer – Scottish Power Energy Networks

Thank you so much to those who attended the event. We hope those who joined us found the evening inspirational and are now feeling motivated to think about careers and training options.

If you would like to be involved with this event in the future, or have any questions following on from this year’s event, please contact the Careers@Deyes team on the main school number.
