Revision Guides

Recommended revision guides

Below is a list of recommended revision guides for subjects at Deyes High. This page is constantly being updated so if some subject information is not present at the moment, please do check back soon.

All students will be studying English Language and Literature.  The important detail is that we are following the AQA specification.

For Language revision, there is a CGP student workbook available on Amazon for approx. £6 that is written for the 1-9 specification and has exemplar questions and answers: New GCSE English Language AQA Workbook – for the Grade 9-1 Course (includes Answers). They also do a revision guide.

The Literature texts will Be An Inspector Calls, the Conflict or Relationships poetry cluster, A Shakespeare play (Romeo and Juliet, Mcbeth, Much Ado About Nothing or The Mercvhant of Venice) and A Christmas Carol, The Curious Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, or Franklnstein.

Cambridge University Press have released study guides for these texts which are written with the AQA syllabus in mind, eg:

For the poetry there is a CGP revision book for each cluster, eg: Amazon link

Teachers will provide revision materials as and when we reach the revision period next year, so there is certainly no obligation to purchase extra matrials, however all of these texts are approved by AQA so they would be fantastic for an extra boost.
