This week’s TFTW is based on ‘World Day for Cultural Awareness’. The slides explain what the day is, what we mean by ‘cultural diversity’ and also how this ties in with the British Values as well as the 4G core values we have at Deyes. They give you 10 ideas of how you at home can support this global celebration and I would love to hear or see back if you manage to do so (maybe using our Deyes- Staff Challenges area on TEAMS).
Special mention to the newsflash this week too as it features a friend of a friend. Earlier this year I asked staff and students at Deyes to donate and raise money for Childhood Cancer Day. The money was dedicated to Jaxon, a 2 year old little boy with a very rare cancer who was a close friend of Mrs Richards. He sadly died just after the TFTW was released. Matt, the man from this story, created and played all of the beautiful music at Jaxon’s funeral in March this year including the most stunning rendition of Postman Pat that I don’t think I will ever forget.
