International Women's Day

International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day, our students had the opportunity to network with successful women from different business sectors. Guests included fashion designer Kirsty Doyle, Stephanie Clay, lead therapist at Aintree University Hospital, Sarah Morton (regional director at Kier) and ex-student Sarah Cluney (founder of The Paper Doll).

Guests spoke to students about their journeys to success, breaking boundaries, and the importance of following your passion. Despite coming from a broad range of industries, there was one common piece of advice that all of our wonderful guests gave to our students: if you have professionalism, drive, and determination you will reach your goals.

We asked our students for feedback at the end of the event, and it was amazing to hear about how guests had positively influenced so many girls.

Florence from Year 7 said: “International Women’s Day is important to be because it gives a chance for women to soar in the world and that we aren’t looked down on by men and we all have an equal amount of leadership." Fellow student Ellie added: “I think it’s important women have jobs in leadership as it shows that we can do the same roles as men. We should all have the same opportunities!”
