A DofE programme is a real adventure from beginning to end. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from.
By completing your DofE, you’re in for an amazing adventure and masses of fun as you take part in a range of activities, all leading to the achievement of an award that’s recognised and valued by universities and employers.
The Duke of Edinburgh Award has been going for seven decades and has inspired millions of young people to get involved in volunteering and to undertake a range of physical activities.
The patron of the charity, His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh said “The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award has helped countless young people on their sometimes difficult path to adulthood at a time when they need our support more than ever.”
At Deyes, we consistently achieve one of the largest DofE expedition teams in Sefton and when we go out we really go out. From even the practice runs students will be out on the mountains, navigating the terrain and finding their way. There will be no rambling country foot paths, just the open mountains ready for adventure.

You achieve your Award by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (five if you’re going for Gold) –
You’ll find yourself helping people or the community, getting fitter, developing skills, and visiting new places through your expedition and residential activity (Gold only).
