Primary transition

We are extremely proud of the work we do to assist a smooth transition from primary to secondary school and the staff and students who get involved do so enthusiastically and thoroughly enjoy the experience!

Whilst we work with many feeder primary schools, including those outside Maghull, we work with all schools. Geographical boundaries are not a barrier to gaining a place at Deyes High and we encourage everyone to choose us as their first choice school because we are the very best option for your child.

At Deyes, we appreciate the value of effective and robust parental school partnerships. We work hard to ensure that we listen and respond to parental feedback and have a number of arrangements in place, even before you join our school, to start off this process in the best possible way.

We host a welcome evening for Year 6 students during the summer term when they can come to school and experience a taste of Life@Deyes. Parents/carers are invited to school later that day to hear from and meet with our dedicated Year 7 team.

W​e hold a Transition day where students can meet staff and students, take part in fun activities and tour the school. We host two additional transition days for students who need some extra support before joining us. We welcome parents of SEND students to join us for afternoon tea so that we can answer any questions you may have. We look forward to welcoming you and to working with you soon.
