Parents/Carers

How can I support my child with their Career decisions?

We would encourage all Parents and Carers to engage with the latest labour market information in our region, through the Liverpool City Region website. This provides you with information such as job roles and descriptions, average salary ranges and whether demand for job types, in our local area, is expected to grow or decline. This may help you to discuss career paths, with your child.
You can learn more about Liverpool City Region’s Labour Market here. The link provides information on the future for employment in Merseyside. The four primary growth sectors within the region are:
  • The Visitor Economy
  • The Knowledge Economy
  • The Low Carbon Economy
  • Super Port

Support your child by using the Careerometer, on the LMI for All website. The Careerometer can be used to compare different jobs, working hours, skills needed etc.

How will parents know what Career Events are taking place at College@Deyes?

There is a range of careers events that take place throughout the academic year from Careers Fairs, Employer networking events and drop-down days. You will be informed of these in advance via the Sixth Form Parent Bulletin, sent every Friday on Synergy.
