GCSE Results reflect students' 'fortitude to succeed'

It was fantastic to welcome our Y11 students into school today to collect their Key Stage 4 results. We are so immensely proud of the way these students have shown such strength of character, determination and resilience despite the ongoing challenges they faced during their final two years here at Deyes High School. They adapted quickly and positively to the new way in which they were assessed this year and they now have incredible results with which to take the next exciting steps on their journey.

Every student deserves huge congratulations for contributing to overall improvements in results which saw 75% of students achieve grades 9-5 in English and 65% achieve grades 9-5 in Maths. 72% of our students achieved at least 5 standard passes, including those in English and Maths.

Individual performances have been much celebrated today too! 122 Grade 9s were awarded to our students and 556 Grades 9-7 ensured that we saw many happy faces. Some of our highlights included: -

Amelia Hughes (right) achieved 9 Grade 9s! Alongside Ann Boylan who achieved 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s!

Christina Keating achieved 9 Grade 9s! With Suzanne Keating who achieved 1 Grade 9, 5 Grade 8s and 3 Grade 7s.

Sam Cramsie achieved 6 Grade 9s and 3 Grade 8s with Faye Craddock who achieved 1 Grade 9, a Distinction*, 5 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s, and Harry McCann achieved 5 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s.

Mrs Beaney, Head of School, said “these results reflect the students’ fortitude to succeed, despite the unique circumstances they have faced. We sincerely hope that such fantastic results will empower our students to realise their dreams and ambitions in the future.”
We are delighted that so many students will continue their journey with us at College@Deyes and we also wish those joining a new pathway every success.
