Design and Technology is an inspiring, rigorous and practical subject. Using creativity and imagination, pupils design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts.
The subject of Design Technology & Engineering encourages a tiered cumulative approach to problem solving, innovation, planning and evaluation as autonomous learners, that will allow them to fully access the essential knowledge and understanding allowing students of all backgrounds to have limitless futures. Our wider curriculum encourages innovative thinking and a stimulating approach to Design Technology and Engineering.
Our KS3 curriculum builds upon the legal entitlement for D&T delivered at KS2. We develop essential knowledge to ensure all learners including SEND, more able and disadvantaged, have a detailed understanding of materials, tools, equipment and the confidence to apply it appropriately, ready to make rapid progress in KS4.
